What To Use Your Senior Photos For: Making the Most of Your Senior Photo Session in Colorado

What Can you Do With Your Senior Pictures?

You might be a parent of a soon-to-be high school senior, or a senior yourself, and find yourself wondering why you even need senior photos. Or you may want senior photos, but are wondering how to make the most of your senior photos. A senior photo session in Colorado isn’t just so you will have an awesome photo to submit to the yearbook (though that is important too!), and there are multiple ways you can use them.

GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS

Come next spring, you’ll be happy to have a variety of senior photos to choose from for your graduation announcements. Some people choose the best one and do a single image for their announcement, while others may choose to create a collage. Along with informing your family and friends about the location and time of your graduation and/or graduation party, they will love getting to see how much you have grown. I can almost guarantee you that your grandma is going to carry your announcement around in her purse, or put it front and center on her refrigerator, ready to show you off at any given moment.

LinkedIn Profile Picture & Applications

The mom of both of these seniors had the ingenious idea to bring along a suit for each of her sons to change into. Not only would this allow for some fancier photos, but it allowed her and her sons to choose photos that they could use in professional circumstances. She chose photos of her sons in the suits both close up and farther away, and now they have professional headshots that they can use for a LinkedIn profile picture, or for any job applications or IDs that may require a formal headshot.

PRINT AND FRAME ON THE WALL

I know multiple families who have the senior photo for each of their children printed and framed on their wall. It isn’t often for most people to have their photo professionally taken, and these photos are done at such an important time of your life! For parents, this will likely be the last professional portrait of your child before they are an adult. It’s so important to have images that truly capture not just the looks but also the personality and even the interests your son or daughter has at this point of their lives. Displaying them in your home will bring back all the memories for years to come.

SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS

This one goes without saying, but imagine all the wonderful social media posts to be made with all your senior pictures! Instagram reels (let’s not forget #seniorsunday), memory posts, and your mom can share your photos, showing you off to all her friends on Facebook! Plus having a great picture as your profile photo will make you stand out when joining all the college social media groups.

GIFTS

Remember Grandma, who I mentioned is going to be showing off your graduation announcement to all of her friends? Well with senior pictures, you’ve got her Christmas gift covered! Another way to make the most of your senior photos is to have them printed and framed as gifts for loved ones – grandparents, aunts and uncles, even for your parents to have to keep in their office when you go away to college.

MODELING/ACTING HEADSHOT

I mentioned LinkedIn, but if you have your sights set on acting or modeling, utilizing your senior session to get some great headshots when you already have your hair and makeup done would just be smart!

I hope these suggestions help you see how you can make the most out of your senior photo session in Colorado. Your pictures will make wonderful and sentimental keepsakes, that you can use for a variety of purposes.

If you want an amazing yearbook photo that stands out, a great profile picture that’ll help a potential employer to notice your professionalism, creative social media posts that make your friends do a double-take, and a gift that’ll melt Grandma’s heart, I’d love to hear from you. Class of 2027, it is time to schedule your senior pictures!
